Get To Know Me

Over the last two decades, I have had the opportunity to experience the evolution of education first-hand. My commitment to ensuring transformative learning for all students, especially those who are often marginalized, started during my tenure as a National Board Certified English Teacher and evolved to me increasing my impact on district-level instruction and literacy as a Senior Master Educator, Assistant Principal, Principal-in-Residence, Director of School Leader Development, and most recently the Senior Director of Transforming Teaching.

I am not shy about my accomplishments as a teacher and school leader, having accomplished National Boards Certification for Literacy and ELA in one year, increased student performance to nearly 80% of my students (including English Language Learners) passing the High School Assessment (HSA), as well as demonstrated double-digit gains on Common Core Standardized Assessments in an urban education landscape.

In each of my roles as an educator, my aim has always been to support instruction-based, whole-child, and antiracist district-wide initiatives to ensure that all students, educators, leaders, and families are thriving. I have successfully led the construction of  holistic teacher observation protocols, codified instructional best practices that address students' social, emotional, and academic needs, designed school leader development and evaluation practices, facilitated the drafting of equity-centered leader standards, and pioneered the formation of leadership pipelines and antiracist professional development programming.

If you have ever experienced a 1:1 coaching session, cohort-style professional development session, and/or conference with me, you know first-hand that well-being and purpose-alignment are at the forefront of my facilitation style. I am passionate about helping educators and leaders interrogate and reflect on current practices in order to help them use diverse data points to inform how they can step into their power and purpose as a leader.

You are in the right place if you are wondering if there is more to this thing called life or leadership! Just like we have four environmental seasons, in our 1:1, cohort, or organizational coaching sessions, we will dig into the Power of 4 Phases, using my 4Liberation Framework as the foundation to increase your well-being and leadership impact.

I have had the honor of coaching school leaders, teacher leaders, and even student leader groups who have achieved transformational outcomes, as well as planned district-wide events such as DCPS’ Leadership Academy and Inaugural Latino/x Summit: Adelante`. I hope that you are ready for the evolution and liberation of your best personal and leadership self!
